Hey guys, I just bought a Bitfenix Phenom M-ITX for my build got myself a ROG IMPACT VI + H220 water CPU cooling, I7 4770K, GTX 770 the thing is, My power supply is Corsair RM 850, which is like 2cm longer than the most common AX 860I But it does not fit! The power supply room is the same as the power supply, there is not even 1mm for cables in front of it!

And I found out the mounting plate for the power supply is in reverse, I have to flip it in order to mount it on the unit. Is this pointing out another PSU form factor?

So I guess its time for dremel to come in. Any other thoughts? Is this pointing out another PSU form factor? So I guess its time for dremel to come in. Any other thoughts? Dremel or a new PSU. The width and height is still the same, but the depth may varied depending on the design / capacity of the PSU. Units like the PC Power and Cooling Silencer MKIII 850w also have a depth of 180mm, and the Antec HCP 850w Platinum is 190mm. Quite honestly, if you could return and exchange your PSU, you could save quite a bit of money by going for a lower capacity unit.

You don't need more than 550w for a mITX computer. I have a 650W 80plus for this build (GTX 770, 4770K, ROG IMPACT VI, H220), and it caused power surge and killed my 840 PRO and WD 2TB hard drive at the same time! It just cant boot up.

I wasnt thinking upgrading my PSU since PCpartpicker tells me the power draw of this build is 440w so it forced me to purchase a Gold rated PSU, 850w. To support this build.

While it is unfortunate that it took out your drives, that doesn't mean a 650w is incapable of powering your system but rather it was either a defective unit or a poor quality unit in the first place.

To rephrase what I had said, you shouldn't need more than a quality 550w unit on a mITX build. The RM850 will provide you more than enough from for even SLI, which you are not going to be doing. Either way, unless you want to modified your case, you will need to find a new power supply.
