I bought this to label a set of discs that I ordered that contained all the games from the Dodgers/Twins World Series back in 1965. They came in simple sleeves without labels and the discs were to be a gift for someone. The hardest part was finding images to use. The making of the labels was very easy. Blanks went into my printer easily, the software was well documented and easy to use and there was a jig to use to make applying the labels really simple and precise.
Overall the labeling of the discs, using this Memorex Label Maker went really well. These labels work just fine.
Additional tools to bring these labels to life: Ink Jet printer, Acoustica CD Label Maker (good program), Avery CD/DVD Label Applicator ( 5699 ), & some imagination. Have used LightScribe exclusively in the past but am now 50/50 between Avery & LightScribe. The obvious advantage of Avery is the ability to add color to the label. The only problem I have encountered is aligning my printer so the label prints correctly. Acoustica Label Maker is the key to fixing this problem as they have an application included which helps you to to fix the alignment. Unfortunately, I can not testify to the long term last-ability of these labels.
For years, my local Staples had these labels and these, with the applicator, made label-making a breeze. When I needed another box, I saw that they did not have the Avery brand but Memorex instead - needing them right away, I purchased them. What a mistake! Nothing but problems - of course the software was not included, and the none of the templates in Windows 7 matched that brand (all of the Avery templates are readily available and pre-bundled in Windows - but even if they were not, I am sure you could download them from Avery) so I went to the Memorex website to see if they had the template software. Even installing the software was problematic and once it installed it was just one issue after another. I couldn't make a label if I tried.
